BIOGRAPHY
Abhishek Rajaram Khedekar (b. 1991, Dapoli, India) is a photographer based in New Delhi. Working across photography, collage, installation, and sound, his practice explores performance, memory, folklore, and the construction of history. Blending documentary approaches with surreal and speculative elements, his work examines how images shape collective narratives and lived realities.
Drawing on archival research and fieldwork, Khedekar's projects often move beyond the photographic image into sculptural and spatial forms. His work seeks to expand photography's documentary possibilities while engaging with questions of representation, identity, and cultural inheritance. In 2022, he was awarded the Loose Joints × Mahler & LeWitt Studios Publishing Performance Residency and Publication Prize for his project Tamasha. The resulting photobook, Tamasha (Loose Joints, 2023), was published in London and has been exhibited internationally. In 2024, he was named Runner-Up for the Aperture Portfolio Prize.
